Our History
We first opened our doors in August 2004. With a Caribbean fusion theme on the menu and art deco décor. With new ownership breaking ground January 2022, today’s décor makeover went from a palette of pastels, to more modern sleek metallics with a hint of live greenery.
With an addition of a menu facelift our dishes present an infusion of southern cuisine with worldwide influences.
As one of the first “Dock and Dine” restaurants located on the Historic Cape Fear River in Downtown Wilmington, we offer free docking for all boating patrons, and for those coming by car we provide pass parking in the lot across the street. We are also dog friendly and encourage guests to bring their furry friends to enjoy the scenic sunset views.
Bar Selections
Although not the typical bar scene, The George features an impressive selection of North Carolina craft beers and extensive wine and martini lists that have changed with the times as well.
On The Riverwalk
Our remaining constant is the ability to provide breathtaking riverfront views of the historic Cape Fear River.
Nestled on its eastern bank, our spacious outdoor dining area is revered by visitors from all over the world. With a capacity of approximately 150 for outside seating, it has become the premier location for viewing the most beautiful sunsets Wilmington has to offer.
